Jumpstart to Finding Meaning in Your Work:

Healthcare and academia can offer many opportunities for important and essential work. At the same time, both are often filled with individuals reporting high rates of dissatisfaction and burnout.  Steve Jobs commented, “The only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”  In this session, participants will explore several different practical strategies and approaches for finding meaning within their work. Participants will complete individualized action plans to help ensure not only surviving, but thriving.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe important contributors to dissatisfaction and burnout at work
  2. Analyze potential strategies for finding meaning in work
  3. Draft a personal action plan to consider and pilot test strategies for finding meaning in work
