Who should attend? This grant writing series is designed for researchers who are currently writing a grant proposal and have not had independent NIH funding.
What will you learn? Participants will learn the fundamentals of preparing an NIH-style grant, identify key features and resources for major sections of the grant, and begin writing a grant application. Each session will include a brief lesson plus approximately an hour devoted to writing.
Objectives
1.Summarize key points to be addressed in different sections of an NIH-style grant application
2.Examine common patterns in competitive grant applications and how they relate to scoring criteria
3.Practice a structured approach to grant writing
4.Draft major sections for a grant application
