OSRHE OER Grant Applications Open

Event date: 9/29/2026 iCal Export

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) is pleased to announce the upcoming Open Educational Resources (OER) Grant Program, providing faculty with opportunities to receive funding of up to $5,000 to transform courses, expand access to high-quality learning materials, and improve student success. Applications will open September 29, 2026.

Between now and the application opening date, we encourage faculty, librarians, instructional designers, and campus partners to begin brainstorming project ideas. Whether you are interested in adopting an existing OER textbook, revising and remixing multiple resources, creating new open content, or developing a complete zero-cost online course, there is a funding level designed to support your work. Projects ranging from simple adoptions to comprehensive online course redesigns may qualify for awards from $500 to $5,000

The OER Grant Program is designed to support projects that:

  • Reduce or eliminate textbook costs for learners
  • Improve access to high-quality instructional materials
  • Advance accessibility and inclusive teaching practices
  • Enhance learner engagement and success
  • Create sustainable, openly licensed resources that can benefit students across Oklahoma

As you begin exploring possibilities, consider how your project could increase affordability, improve instructional quality, strengthen accessibility, or support critical workforce and academic needs. Competitive proposals will clearly demonstrate the impact their projects will have on learners and institutions.

As a guide, please feel free to read through our "OER Playbook."

We look forward to seeing innovative ideas that expand access, affordability, and student success across Oklahoma.
